Some folk music

Some folk music
Just bores the bejesus out of me --
All sunshine, blue skies and a lazy river
Flowing with yippy, drippy love
Extolling the easy joys of a docile Mother Nature
And magically carrying to us the meaning of life
Within 32 measures, or so,
Expressed by three or four simple chords
Strummed on a six-string, arch-top guitar
By a suburban songwriter wannabe

Who comes up with this crap?
Did these songwriters consider
That our fiery sun, floating some 91 million miles away,
Has an internal temperature of 27 million degrees Fahrenheit?
Did they think about the massive, powerful storms that brew
In our atmosphere, a 350-mile thick blanket of air?
That the 2,300 mile-long Mississippi carries about 597,600 cubic feet of water
Into the Gulf Coast every second –-
Enough to drown every second-rate guitarist
In North America?
