is larger than life:
a furry canine constellation
with four starry paws
and a Milky Way mane
It’s more that we
exist around him,
orbiting slowly
in drowsy dog days
exist around him,
orbiting slowly
in drowsy dog days
Until he beds his small flock
at night, allows gravity to pull
his giant, shaggy frame to the floor
and his low, rumbling moan
pulls the moon into the sky

What a great tribute to your collie. It makes me think of my Shelby, who looked a little bit like Titan and always had to drop back on walks and round up the stragglers.
What a lovely tribute to Titan - I am sorry for your loss. Your poem reminds me of Shelby, my long ago collie who always dropped back to round up the stragglers on walks. She was always on duty, watching over us wayward humans.
